Foux d’Allos is situated at an altitude of 1800 m and is a typical Southern Alps high mountain resort. Founded in 1937 it is entirely timber-built, creating a warm friendly atmosphere. The ESPACE LUMIERE linking the Foux d'Allos and Pra-Loup skiing areas has created one of the largest skiing areas in the Southern Alps, providing 160 km of pistes for the enjoyment of experienced and athletic skiers.

The Espace Lumiere has 230 km of groomed pistes, skiing to 2600 m, and 53 lifts. The choice varies from well-groomed motorway pistes to light powder runs below the tree line. For beginners within the tour group, the main nursery slopes are near the village, with other nursery slopes at altitude. After a few days, beginners should be able to ski the wide (and scenic) blue runs leading back to the village.

For intermediates, the ski area has everything from the challenging pistes around Le Lac (2500 m) to the scenic cruising runs around Les Agneliers (1700 m) and Les Bergeries (2300 m). The Observatoire (2600 m) is the gateway to exciting slopes for the expert skier.
